Vincere
This Privacy Policy explains how Vincere ("Vincere", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Vincere iPhone app, Apple Watch app, widgets, website, and related services (together, the "Service").
The short version: you choose what to share, we never sell your data, we don't show ads, and you can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account information
- Your email address, or your Apple ID relay email if you use Sign in with Apple
- Username, display name, profile photo, and bio
- Preferences you set, such as themes, check-in times, and notification settings
1.2 Things you create
- Tasks, habits, goals, folders, projects, notes, journal entries, and calendar plans
- Check-ins, streaks, and the W's (wins) and L's you earn
- Proof photos and videos, posts, captions, comments, and likes
- Tasks and habits you share with or assign to other people, invites you send, and who you follow
- Your conversations with Vince, the in-app AI coach
1.3 Data from your device — only with your permission
Vincere asks before accessing any of the following. You can say no, and change your mind at any time in iPhone Settings.
- Apple Health (read-only): steps, heart rate, sleep, workouts, and activity. See Section 3.
- Calendar: events are shown next to your tasks so you can plan around them.
- Contacts: used only so you can pick friends to invite. Your contact list stays on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.
- Camera, microphone, and photo library: to capture or attach proof photos and videos, set a profile photo, and add images to notes.
- Speech recognition: to turn voice recordings into text. This is handled by Apple's speech recognition service.
- Screen Time (App Blocker): blocking runs on your device through Apple's Screen Time framework. Apple does not let us see which apps or websites you pick or how you use them, and we don't receive that information.
- Notifications: a push token so we can send reminders, check-ins, and updates from people you're connected with.
1.4 Purchases
Subscriptions are bought and billed through Apple's App Store. We never see your card or payment details. We receive your subscription status (for example, active or expired) from Apple and our subscription provider, RevenueCat.
1.5 Diagnostics
When the app crashes or hits an error, we collect crash reports and technical details (device model, iOS version, app version, and what the app was doing) through Sentry so we can fix bugs.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To run the Service: store and sync your data across your devices, and show it to you
- To power social and accountability features: sharing tasks, invites, follows, and notifications
- To calculate your W's, streaks, and progress
- To give you personalised coaching through Vince (see Section 4)
- To provide customer support and respond to you
- To keep the Service safe: preventing fraud, spam, abuse, and enforcing our Terms
- To fix bugs and improve performance
- To comply with the law
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or share it with data brokers.
3. Apple Health Data
If you connect Apple Health, Vincere reads (never writes) your health data, and uses it only to make Vince's coaching fit your body — for example, adjusting advice after a short night of sleep.
- Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, and never sold.
- Health data is never shown to other users.
- When you talk to Vince, a short summary (such as today's steps or last night's sleep) may be included in the request sent to our AI provider to generate a reply. It is used only to answer you.
- You can disconnect at any time in iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Vincere.
4. Vince, the AI Coach
Vince's replies are generated by third-party AI models. When you use Vince, we send your message along with the context needed to answer it — such as your tasks, habits, streaks, and, if you've connected it, a summary of your Apple Health data — to one of these providers: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, or Google (Gemini). They process it to generate the reply under their API terms. Don't share anything with Vince that you wouldn't want processed this way.
5. Who Can See What
- Your public profile — username, display name, photo, bio, W's, and streaks — is visible to other Vincere users.
- Tasks and habits are private by default. Checking something off doesn't share it.
- When you share or assign a task or habit, the people you share it with can see it and its progress.
- Proof photos and posts are visible to the audience you choose: only you, your followers, people in a shared habit, or everyone.
- You can edit or delete your content, and report or block other users, at any time.
6. Service Providers We Share Data With
We share information only with companies that help us run Vincere, and only what they need:
- Supabase — database, sign-in, file storage, and server functions
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, push notifications, Health, and Screen Time
- RevenueCat — subscription status
- Sentry — crash and error reports
- Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google — AI model providers for Vince (see Section 4)
We may also share information if required by law, to protect the safety and rights of our users or Vincere, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case this policy would continue to apply to your data).
7. Data Retention & Deleting Your Account
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and the data associated with it from our servers, including your tasks, habits, posts, and photos. Copies in backups are removed on our normal backup cycle. We may keep limited records where the law requires it (for example, purchase records).
If you can't access the app, email vincereapp@gmail.com from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.
8. Security
Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our hosting provider, and access is protected by account-level security rules so only you — and the people you choose to share with — can see your content. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and California law), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you, or get a copy of it
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent, for example by turning off a permission

10. Children
Vincere is not intended for anyone under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International Transfers
Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Vincere changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app.
